Deep inside central Vietnam's highlands river canyons and gorges can be found remnants on an ancient fossil tropical rain forest that dates back over 25 million years old. Large stumps and logs of these fossilized tree's are recovered from the rivers during the dry season. Sometimes Agate and Jasper are also found in these semiprecious stone river deposits along with the Vietnamese Petrified Wood fossils.
